Diversity of Respondents in a Vox Pop

A vox pop drawn entirely from one type of passer by, whether by age, background, or simply convenience, produces a narrower picture of opinion than the format is capable of offering when approached with a bit more intention.
Deliberately seeking out a wider range of respondents, rather than simply approaching whoever happens to be nearest, takes more effort but produces a far more honest sample of what a community actually thinks about a given topic.
This does not mean forcing an artificial balance across every category. It means being aware, while filming, of who has been missed so far, and making a genuine effort to correct that gap before the day of filming ends.
A useful habit is keeping a simple mental tally throughout the day, noticing quietly which kinds of voices have already been captured and which have not, so that a deliberate effort can be made before the crew packs up and moves on to somewhere else entirely.
