The Question That Shifts an Entire Career
Launch library · evergreen read

Careers rarely change direction through a single dramatic event. More often, they pivot quietly around a single question someone finally allowed themselves to ask seriously, after avoiding it for a considerable stretch of time.
The question is frequently simple: is this actually what I want to be doing, asked honestly rather than rhetorically, in a moment when the usual momentum of daily routine has briefly paused long enough to allow reflection.
What makes the question powerful is less its content and more the willingness to sit with an uncomfortable answer, rather than immediately reasoning it away in favour of the safer, already familiar path.
People who later describe a major career change often point back to this exact kind of quiet, private question as the true starting point, long before any outward, visible change actually took place. The outward change usually follows only once the quieter, internal question has finally been answered honestly.
