Wisdom Earned Through Retirement
Launch library · evergreen read

Retirement often leaves a person with decades of accumulated professional knowledge and considerably more time to share it, a combination that many communities underuse simply because no one thought to ask what that knowledge actually was.
Retired professionals frequently describe a specific frustration: feeling that their hard won expertise has quietly become invisible, no longer sought out the way it once reliably was during their working years.
Communities that create genuine opportunities for this knowledge to be asked for, through mentoring programs or simple informal conversation, tend to benefit considerably, while those that do not often let decades of expertise fade unused.
The wisdom itself does not disappear simply because a career has ended. What tends to disappear is the habit of asking for it, once the formal structures that once prompted those questions are no longer in place. Simply asking, and continuing to ask, keeps that hard earned expertise genuinely useful rather than quietly forgotten.
